Free Speech, expression, assembly, association for all humanity.

Freedom of Speech

A principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or sanction. The term "freedom of expression" is sometimes used synonymously but includes any act of seeking, receiving, and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.

The suppression of speech, public communication, or other information, on the basis that such material is considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or "inconvenient" as determined by government authorities or by community consensus.

What are the core beliefs that drive this mission?

Every person is born with a natural right to Freedom of Speech, Expression, Association, and Assemble.

privacy is the bedrock of freedom

we should be able to communicate as we please privately

transparency in code and governance

we own our data and should be the ones that profit from it

self-sovereign identity – people must establish and maintain their own identities, not by 3rd parties

self-sovereign money – empower people to be their own bank, indebted to no one, with the keys to their own money

The following components comprise the platform:

Censorship Resistant Routing

Uses TOR, I2P, and 1DN (Bluetooth, WiFi-Direct, Satellites, Full-Spectrum Radio, LiFi) for privacy routing around censorship attempts by using unblocked networks and peers as relays.

Micro-Services DApp Platform

1M5 is a micro-service platform for developing decentralized applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and a Staged Event-Driven Architecture (SEDA) supporting routing between services using a routing service that implements Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) and Decentralized Routing Algorithms. Services can be managed independently of the application.

The Invisible Internet Project - an anonymous internet overlay network of about 65k peers. Provides garlic-routing, layered encryption, and uni-directional channels for IP anonymity. Best for communicating P2P with other I2P users.

The Onion Router (TOR) - an anonymous internet overlay network of about 7k nodes. Provides onion-routing, layered encryption, and bi-directional channels for IP anonymity. Best for accessing clearnet web sites/services.

A direct wireless ad-hoc network using Bluetooth, WiFi-Direct, Satellites, Full-Spectrum Radio, and LiFi to support private communications outside of the internet.

Decentralized IDentifier

Pluggable, self-sovereign, decentralized, people and/or automation-controlled universal ID, called DID or Decentralized IDentifier using OpenPGP. Only you have the keys. Build reputation with them.

Key Ring

Encryption and Signing keys kept safe on specialized flash drives where once added they can not be read nor changed. Encryption and signing happens on-drive only. OpenPGP used for standards support.

Info Vault

The platform allows for the user to grant access control to their personal information on their device if desired. Access can be revoked when its no longer desired for them to have it. This will end widespread data breaches.

1M5 is a decentralized open source platform providing peer-to-peer private, censorship-resistant services. Additional services can be added and applications can be built on top of it. It currently is under heavy development and doesn't use a crypto-currency but is expected to eventually use utility tokens implemented as BTC (Bitcoin) colored coins to help protect the network from abuse and ensure its self-sustainable.

1M5 is an open source project powered by volunteers, bounties and gifts. In the spirit of open source and censorship resistance, we have opted to create 1M5 without the demands or influence of investors nor governments.

Gift to the 1M5 Development Fund

If you support this project and are in a position to help that would be wonderful. Please request a bitcoin address using a contact method below.

Gifts to 1M5 are not tax deductible as it is not formally registered in any jurisdiction. By gifting Bitcoin to the 1M5 gift wallet, you will be helping 1M5 pay for our direct costs like web hosting, domain names, outsourced work, bounties, and so on. If you wish to support it anonymously, we recommend using Bisq as it uses Tor and using a source of Bitcoin that doesn't have your identity attached to it.
